On showing up
On showing up.
God has called you to this place—to this season—for a reason. You are convinced that this is where you’re meant to be. You were walking in alignment with God before you got here, so this is your spot. He hasn’t called you to move on, so here you stay. This is where you’re called to plant roots right now.
“So why is it so hard?” you keep asking. “God, have you abandoned me? Why would you bring me here and then allow so much opposition that I want to give up?”
Friend—you’re not alone. God has NOT abandoned you. Let’s break this down for a minute.
Spiritual warfare is real and powerful.
Paul writes in Ephesians that our battle is not against flesh and blood, but against the spiritual forces in the heavenly realm.
It’s not your boss or that coworker always trying to one-up you.
It’s not your classmates. Not your prof.
It’s not your spouse. Not your kids. Not your parents.
This battle is against the enemy.
So what does it mean to fight for God’s glory when you feel like you have nothing left to give?
I’m learning with ya. I’m praying hourly. I’m belting out worship. I’m fasting to give up the desires of my flesh (vengeance, retaliation, meanness) in order to invite the Spirit in.
My battle strategy might look different from yours, but one thing’s for certain: we need to be clothed with the armor of God.

The WORD
Girl, you are here for a purpose. I’m not saying that everything happens for a reason, because sometimes there is no reason at all for suffering. But you are called to glorify God in all that you do.
Right now, you’re glorifying God by simply showing up. To class. To work. To the gym. To church. To your kids. To your roommates.
Protect yourself with God’s holy armor and stand. Stand your ground. Stand for justice. For truth. For love. For grace. God’s got you. He’s already won.
soli deo gloria
